As of 1 July 2016, the Departments of German, Scandinavian Studies, and Slavic Languages and Literature have merged into the Department of German, Nordic, and Slavic (GNS), as part of a broader university mandate to bring together departments that can combine their strengths and share their best practices.

German, Scandinavian, and Slavic degree programs, alumni relations, and outreach events will continue to exist independently under the Department of GNS. We are in the process of creating a new website that reflects this all. In the meantime, you can access the web sites at German, Nordic, Slavic.

GNS is located in Van Hise Hall, on floors 8, 13 and 14.  The Departmental office is on floor 8, in room 818.  The Graduate office is on Floor 14, room 1432 and the Undergraduate  office is on floor 13, room 1306.
